Types of bonus
Performance bonus is simply a percentage of your salary or a chosen base. Statutory bonus (Payment of Bonus Act) applies to employees earning Basic+DA up to ₹21,000/month, at 8.33%–20% of salary, calculated on Basic+DA capped at ₹7,000/month (or minimum wage, if higher). Bonus is taxable as salary income.
